Job Description

Prescient Edge is seeking a Senior Orbital Analyst to support a government client. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform orbit determination, ephemeris generation, orbital position uncertainty estimates. 
  • Generate simulations to validate accuracy of various orbital simulations and orbit determination techniques.
  • Familiarity with Python, Shell Scripting for engineeing support and validation testing
  • Contribute to development of new and improved mission capabilities.
  • Engage customers for product demonstrations and analysis products and the ability to effectively communicate results.
  • Communicate complex network solutions to technical and non-technical employees.
  • Perform real time support, troubleshooting and analysis of in-orbit satellite anomalies, providing immediate and relevant problem identification and resolution.
  • Provide support for root cause analysis and investigation of satellite anomalies.
Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Demonstrated experience with orbit determination and astrodynamics techniques.
  • Familiarity with standard astrodynamics tools including STK/Astrogator and/or Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), and MATLAB.
  • Trajectory analysis tool experience such as POST, OTIS, Astrogator, or Copernicus.
  • Operations background to include in-depth understanding of satellite operations.
  • Thorough understanding of spacecraft, space operations and ground interfaces.
  • System engineering mindset that allows the person to have a global view of problems and solution sets.
  • Experience with Linux operating system.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in small team settings to solve complex problems.
