Job Description

Prescient Edge is seeking a Junior Signals Analyst to support a Federal Government client.

Please note that the availability of this position is contingent upon contract award.

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and the abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Description:

  • Conduct advanced signals analysis of pre-demodulated and demodulated signals; perform tradecraft discovery operations; draft intelligence reports for national-level customers
  • Shall perform signals analysis of collected signals and waveforms in the space domain.
  • Processes, exploits, and disseminates intelligence derived from demodulated and pre-demodulated foreign signals to determine signal characteristics for intelligence purposes. 
  • Identify signals of interest in foreign satellite communications.
  • Conduct advanced Signals Analysis, including but not limited to analyzing collected signals at the bit-and protocol-levels, including identifying and analyzing bitstreams (e.g., multiplexers, error correction, voice and video compression, instrumentation systems) and protocols (e.g., link layer, network layer, application layer).
  • Demonstrate relevant, senior-level, or higher SA experience in NSA production offices, service cryptological production elements, and/or other relevant SIGINT production agencies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with enterprise tools such as AutoSnap, DarkQuest, ROADBED, VINTAGEHARVEST, Waveform Viewer Tool (WVT), Data Viewer Tool (DVT), pktproc2, and pktswing to perform analytical tasks.
  • Perform searches within NSA SIGINT repositories using common NSA tools; develop selection and filtration criteria on target based on protocol and signal parameters; accurately document signal parameters for reporting using NSA reporting tools.
  • Understand signal theory (power, frequency, modulation, phase, polarity, propagation), modulation techniques (AM, FM, BPSK, FSK, QPSK, PSK, QAM, PCM), multiple access strategies (FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, DAMA), encoding/decoding transmission (physical layer), be familiar with signal technologies and standards (DVB-S2, iDirect, HughesNET, ComTech), linear recursive sequences, convolutional coding, protocol stacks, etc.
  • Analyze PROFORMA, spread spectrum Signals of Interest (SOIs), and perform advanced internals signals analysis.
  • Coordinate with NSA collection organizations and signal development centers.
  • Understand systems and processes for geolocation of ground, air, and space domain signals.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the OSI model, standard protocols (TCP, UDP), IP subnetting, telecommunications technologies, IPv4 and IPv6 networks, and Classless Interdomain Routing (CIDR).
Job Requirements

Experience:

  • 3 years of relevant experience.

Education:

  • Complete recommended NSA Courses NETA2402/NETA2108 (Analysis II) & any of the following: RPTG2238, RPTG2235, RPTG3225, RPTG3222 (Basic Analytical Reporting) or equivalent curriculum SIGC2401 (Introductory TDMA) and/or SIGC3200 (Advanced VSAT Analysis) or equivalent curriculum; Military Cryptologic Continuing Education Program (MCCEP) Phase 1 and 451 (Intermediate Communications Signals Analysis Course) or 452 (Advanced Communications Signals Analysis Course) or governmental or commercial equivalents.

Security Clearance:

  • Security clearance required TS/SCI w/ CI Polygraph.
